What is the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Policy?
To maintain the value of the HealthForce brand and ensure a fair playing field for all our partners, we have established a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy. This policy outlines the minimum price at which our products can be publicly advertised across all channels, including websites, social media, and print.
How does MAP affect my actual selling price?
The MAP policy only applies to the prices you advertise publicly. You are free to determine the actual final resale price in-store or at the point of sale, as long as the advertised price remains at or above the established MAP.
What practices are considered violations?
Practices that effectively lower the advertised price below MAP are not permitted. This includes:
- Using coupons or rebates that drop the advertised price below MAP.
- Bundling products or creating multipacks at a total price lower than the combined individual MAP.
- "Add to cart to see price" features or implying a lower price is available at checkout.
How is the policy enforced?
HealthForce monitors compliance regularly. If a violation is identified, our standard process involves:
- First Violation: A written notice with 24 hours to correct the price.
- Second Violation: A 30-day suspension of the wholesale account.
- Third Violation: Termination of the business relationship.
Where can I find current MAP pricing?
Current MAP pricing is communicated directly to all authorized retailers. We provide at least 30 days' notice for any changes to these prices, except in special circumstances.
Why does HealthForce use manufacturing dates on supplements?
At HealthForce, transparency and respect for our ingredients guides how we make and label our supplements. Accordingly, we have updated how we date our supplements to better reflect the nature of whole-food ingredients and how they age over time. Instead of listing an expiration date, we now list the manufacturing date on our products to provide clearer, more meaningful information about when your supplement was made.
Our supplements are made from carefully dried, whole-food ingredients. Drying removes moisture that would otherwise support microbial growth, which causes food and botanical materials to degrade over time. When moisture is reduced to very low levels, the degradation process slow dramatically.
Because of this, properly dried whole-food powders are inherently stable and can retain their nutritional integrity for extended periods when stored correctly. In their original, unopened packaging and under appropriate storage conditions, products of this nature typically remain suitable for use for many years after manufacture. Our Friendly Force probiotic blend has the shortest potency-related shelf life of our products. It provides up to 40 billion CFU for two years from the date of manufacture, after which potency gradually declines, even if unopened.
The FDA does not require expiration dates on dietary supplements. After evaluating the stability of our formulations, the characteristics of our raw materials, and our packaging system, we determined that listing the manufacturing date provides meaningful transparency without encouraging unnecessary disposal of products that remain nutritionally intact and well-preserved for use.
Our supplements are packaged in amber glass bottles with plastisol-lined metal lids and oxygen absorbers to protect against light, air, and moisture. This packaging system optimizes freshness and quality over extended periods of time. Our largest size protein powders are packaged in sturdy, non-leaching, chemically inert HDPE plastic with a lined lid and oxygen absorber. While we do prefer glass, large protein powder tubs aren't available in glass, unfortunately. So this HDPE choice affords a superior moisture and oxygen barrier when compared to other plastics and will keep your protein powder protected and preserved.
Once a product is opened, shelf life will vary depending on handling and storage conditions. Exposure to moisture, repeated opening, or the introduction of contaminants can affect product quality over time. Factors such as placing lids face-down on unclean surfaces, closing lids while damp, handling powders with unclean hands, or using utensils that are not clean and dry can all introduce moisture or microorganisms into the container once opened.
For best results after opening, we recommend storing products in a cool, dry place; keeping lids tightly closed; avoiding contact with moisture; and using clean, dry utensils when handling powders. If your product specifically suggests refrigeration, please store it in the refrigerator and note any other label instructions. Following these practices helps maintain product integrity. If handled properly, these low-moisture powders typically retain potency for at least a year after opening... and often longer. The exception is products containing flax ingredients prone to rancidity. Supplements containing flaxseed should be consumed within a few months of opening.
If you have questions about a specific product, batch, or storage situation, our team is always available to help. Please have the lot number ready if you reach out.
